Elaine (Wild Rose Reader) tagged me with a meme yesterday. It’s a simple one: just tell what I’m reading now. Actually, I’m doing a lot of listening these days, as well as reading. Here’s what’s on my iPod, and on my nightstand.
CHILDREN’S/YA:
My listen-while-knitting book (as long as I don’t have a complicated pattern to keep track of!)…Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke.
ADULT NON-FICTION:
Listening to and enjoying Barbara Kingsolver’s new book… Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life.
What a beautiful cover! Just started reading this Harvard Press Edition of Eudora Welty’s One Writer’s Beginnings.
ADULT FICTION:
B and I are going to visit his mother, and it will be a long drive, so we chose Anna Karenina to listen to on the way there and back! We wanted a classic, and this choice was his suggestion.
I’m going to tag my Mom to see what she’s reading right now. I’ll post her answer here tomorrow.
A Fondness For Reading 
I really need to try listening to books! I could get so much more done. I love handwork and try to always have something when I watch television, but listening to a book would be even better.
I’m eager to read the new Kingsolver and glad to hear that you are enjoying it.
One Writer’s Beginnings is actually on my list, but has been pushed back several times. I read Suzanne Marr’s biography of Welty last fall, and added O W’s B at that time. I WILL get to it someday!

Jenclair and Elaine, I really love listening to audiobooks, although nothing will substitute for the feel of a book in my hands. It took me awhile to learn how to listen well, but now I love a good book to listen to…especially if it’s the author reading.
Tanabata, I’ve heard so many positives about Inkheart, I just had to see for myself.
Gentle Reader, it’s been over 40 years (do I dare admit that?!) since I read Anna Karenina, so it will be like a new book to me. I’m excited to listen to it on this trip.
