Happy Father’s Day!

For all the fathers and grandfathers out there, Happy Father’s Day! Our son and daughter-in-law arrived on Friday with the Grandboy to celebrate Father’s Day with us. It was the Grandboy’s first visit to Gramps’ and Grammy’s house, and we all had a wonderful time, which included a lovely walk through the wetlands park just down the street from us.

Perfect weather for a wetlands walk…
Cattails and lots of wildlife to see…

And Gramps held a very tired Grandboy by the time we finished the walk…

What a lovely way to spend father’s day. A walk in the lovely park and a picture of the new father and the new grandfather and the new little grandson. Just the best ever.

Mom, it would have been nice to have you with us on that lovely walk. You would have enjoyed the beauty of it, and loved seeing Kai’s reactions to all the birds and the sounds.

    Chris, Bookfool, and Tanabata,
It’s a beautiful park, and so close to home! Our walk was mid-day. If you walk there in the early mornings, you can see so much more wildlife–the otters, the beaver, the osprey, and the bald eagles! There’s a website of the park with virtual tours, if you’re interested. You can find it at: http://www.vrseattle.com/pages/browse.php?cat_id=732

Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures. What a great outdoorish Father’s Day. I’m sure the beautiful park must have sparked reflection on being a new father and a new grandfather. πŸ™‚

Matt, we definitely look at the world differently now with the Grandboy in tow. It’s a beautiful place to walk, but seeing this little guy watch a Redwing Blackbird closely for the first time was amazing. He missed the turtles, though, when he fell asleep.
