Dewey’s Knit-A-Long

I am co-hosting the Dewey’s Books Reading Challenge with my friend, Chris (Stuff As Dreams Are Made On) as a tribute to the blogging friend we lost recently. Dewey (The Hidden Side of a Leaf), was a prolific reader and an inspirational community-building blogger. Our reading challenge honors her memory in many different ways, and today I introduced a new “mini-challenge” as part of that 2009 reading challenge. Since Dewey also loved knitting, this mini-challenge is a Knit-A-Long! So click here to visit the Challenge web site and read about Dewey’s Knit-A-Long, and think about joining us for the reading, and maybe even for the knitting!

Thanks, J.Danger…ANY kind of handwork would qualify, so think about it. And I do know some great web sites for learning how to knit, with video tutorials! 🙂

Thanks, Lizzie. I really appreciate that…I didn’t know if anyone would go for it or not, so I’m very pleased to hear that.

Thanks, Nymeth. I think your work on your lovely booksmarks would qualify for this mini-challenge!

If I could knit worth a darn, I’d join this one. But I’ll be doing some reading in Dewey’s honor, that’s for sure. Thanks for hosting!

What an amazing challenge! I’m going to try and participate if I can, but I’m not sure how much knitting time I’ll have in the upcoming semester! But I’m definately going to keep reading about what all the great knitters out there are up to – maybe I’ll be able to live vicariously through their needles.

Chelsea, it would be lovely if you joined us! I don’t have much knitting time, either, or much energy left at the end of a school day. You don’t have to finish a project in that amount of time. Just start it and work on it little bits at a time in her memory. That’s what I’m going to do.
