It’s been a busy week being back in the classroom after an extended Winter Break! The second graders were happy to be back, and I was very glad to see those fun faces again. They seemed to enjoy getting busy again, and worked so nicely on their math and reading projects. We also had a special guest art teacher come in on Thursday afternoon and she worked with them on a beautiful oil pastels project. A very nice week…
And when I got home yesterday afternoon, there was a package for me in the mail from Portugal! Here’s a photo of the bookmarks that were made and sent to me by my friend, Nymeth (things mean a lot). She also included a bag of dark chocolates (yum!!) that I will very kindly share with B (one for you, one for me…) since he loves dark chocolate almost as much as I do! The bookmarks are lovely, and I will love using them. Thanks and a big hug, Ana!
Hooray, it arrived π I’ve actually been meaning to e-mail you and Megan because I was getting worried that they were taking so long. As you can probably tell from the card, I expected it to arrive between Christmas and New Year’s π I’m so glad you like them! And I’m happy to hear your first week back to work was good. The oil pastels project sounds so lovely!

Aw, look at all those eager little faces! What fun! My son goes back to school next week. I will miss him, but I think he’s sick of home and boring old parents. π

Nymeth, I’m so glad they arrived, too. I’m not surprised that they were delayed, however. We’ve had so much snow and ice, then more recently, flooding here. Many shipments have been delayed getting into the area! Anyway, I love them. You definitely need to open an Etsy shop.
Bookfool, aren’t those faces terrific?! They make me happy to sit down and look at them each day. They admitted that they were pretty tired of being snowbound at home!

Chris, they’ll be my favorite bookmarks, too. She should open an Etsy shop, don’t you think?
Thanks, Les. They’re a very nice group of kids, and they’re especially eager-looking when we sit on the reading rug for our read alouds.

my kids went back too. It was rough. Rougher for me than for them!

Chris, we’ll keep urging her to do it! Then others could enjoy her bookmarks, too.
J.Danger, it’s so nice to have those extended family times…yes, it would be hard to send them back to school. But I’m on the receiving end of that, and love to have them back with me. They are so eager to learn and so warmhearted and caring.
