Welcome!

Welcome to the new home of A Fondness For Reading!  I hope you’ll enjoy the new format.  I transferred all my files from the old site, but it will take me a while to sort through everything and make sure it all works!  If you find dead links, or other things that don’t work, please let me know!

In the meantime, A Fondness For Reading is still a place where I can share with you my passion for reading, and my … thoughts, memories, and ideas from a lifetime of reading!  So please update your links and check back here often!  It’s still a site “under construction!”

Thanks so much, Wordlily! It’s so nice to have a comment already! It’s been nervewracking, but I’m excited about the change and hope everything shows up okay. It’s a work-in-progress!

BEAUTIFUL!!! I considered switching to WordPress, but when it took 3 hours to add 3 columns to my blogspot page —- I quickly changed my mind.

I have definitely updated my files to your site and will anxiously await future posts.

Robin, I love it!!! Welcome to WordPress 😀 It’s fantastic looking. Maybe one day you’ll get really brave and transfer to WordPress.org like me! But for now, I absolutely love the new site!!

Welcome to WordPress, Robin! It is a tad more difficult than Blogger, but it gives you so much more freedom. I hope you’ll enjoy the experience. (I’m off now to update my Reader and Blogroll links)

Thanks, Jessica! I’ve been thinking about it for over a year, so it took me a long time to get up the courage to make a change.

Thanks, Molly. I know what you mean! It took me a long time to transfer everything over here and then work out the bugs. Hopefully I’ll like this different system and some of the options available. It’s all an experiment!

Thanks, Chris! You were my inspiration!

Thanks, Shelly. I was scared, too, but each one of these blogging places offers some things that the others don’t, so I had to be willing (and have the time) to learn some new ways to do the usual things. But I do love to learn new things!

Thanks, Kristen M. It will take me a little while to “unpack all the boxes.”

    Thanks, Nymeth!

Thanks, Kay! I didn’t want to make it difficult at all for my friends — we all live such busy lives!

    Thanks, Joann!

Hey Robin! I changed the address on my sidebar list, and am all set. I’m wondering why. I’ve been very happy with blogspot and am always interested in what makes someone switch.

Beautiful new look, Robin! I wish I were brave enough to do the same. I’m not sure I’m up for learning all the ins & outs of a new blog site, though. I’m still using the Classic version of Blogger! When I tried to switch to the newer version, what a year or two ago, I had problems with all my Amazon hyperlinks, so I switched back to the original format. It works for me, but there are times I wish for an easier template.

Anyhoo… lovely look. I’ve updated my blogroll. BTW, you’ve got my name spelled Leslie in yours. It’s actually Lesley. 🙂

Thanks, Shanra! I think I’ll like WordPress. There’s a lot to learn, but there are a lot of options.

Thanks for updating your blogroll, Iliana. I was most worried about losing track of friends!

Thanks, Nan. When I first set up my blog two years ago, I opened a blogger account AND a wordpress account. I couldn’t make up my mind. I’ve liked Blogger, but I liked the WordPress templates better, so I thought I’d give it a try. There’s a lot to learn, and some things I already miss, but I’m hoping that I can make it do exactly what I want. It’s all an experiment!

Thanks, Les! It’s a steep learning curve here, but we’ll see how it goes. I’ve corrected the spelling of your name in my blogroll. Sorry about that! 🙂

Love your new site–looks great. I’m attracted to the idea of WordPress but I’m technically inept, so I’ve been hesitant to take the plunge and make a change. Congrats on going for it!
