A short guest post from my Mom … just keeping us to date on what’s she’s reading now that she is retired from her Book Group leader position at the senior center.
I just finished reading Gore Vidal’s INVENTING A NATION: Washington, Adams, Jefferson. I picked it up at Barnes &Noble some time ago. I figured it had to be good and was not disappointed. He stretches and strains me with his vocabulary but he makes up for it by sparing no little goodie I’ve haven’t read before. Gives a lot more on Hamilton than I’ve read before. He mentions Hamilton’s demise in one sentence as if it really was not especially important. By then, however, it’s seems for the better.
