New Companion

macbook-whiteRest easy!  I haven’t traded B in on a newer, younger husband!  Not after almost 40 years…no, he’s a keeper!  But today my new sweet little laptop that he ordered for me (see, I told you he was a keeper!) arrived, and I’ve spent the afternoon transferring my computer life onto this lovely little machine.  I named her Echo, because I always name my computers (my daughter does the same thing and a few years ago renamed one of her computers “Piece o’ Shit” …).  It’s fast and easy, and will be so much fun for my music, my audiobooks, and my blogging!

I have a laptop and I love it. Could you tell me if the one you have just bought is a Apple? I only ask because I am thinking about buying a new laptop and I have been told that Apple is very good. I would love to know if you think that is right.

Maree, this is my second laptop, and I don’t know how I ever lived without one before! This is a sweet and powerful little machine, so I know I’m going to love it.

Jennifer, yes, it’s a new 13 inch Macbook. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the other models, but it’s powerful and easy to use, and I love it!

My Mac got a warm fuzzy feeling when it saw your new Mac’s picture. I just stumbled upon your blog through your Neil Gaiman recommendation. I still kick myself that I didn’t go hear him speak when he was at Vroman’s, the local book store. I’ve finished doing MY report cards (3rd Grade), but the film sounds fascinating. Having just been to London, I’ll have to Netflix it.

My husband and I lived in Port Townsend for 9 months in 1993. Spiders wove webs around our house in October. By February, I realized I was one of THOSE people who’d need a light box to survive the winter. No such problems in SoCal. That northern climate does encourage reading and caffeine consumption, and I do miss the ferries.

I’ve had my laptop for about a year now and I love her(it’s a her because she is purple with a floral design on top). I actually don’t move her much from her usual location near my reading spot but she has been great to have when I make the trip to Mom’s or sister’s houses. Have fun with yours.
