It’s been a long, dark winter in the Northwest, but I realized today that Spring is coming! It won’t be long now! I’m always surprised when I see signs of early spring. I guess I just get into this mindset where I think the dark and the rain will last forever…but they don’t! It’s comin’!

My husband is surprised every year when the shoots come up in the late winter. It’s funny!

Sure enough. First signs of spring. You’re way ahead of us.
A look out this morning and what do I see? Fog. No green anywhere.

Oh my gosh! I’m just shaking my head. It will be months before such a sight appears around here. This is one of the things I love about reading blogs from other places – it’s fun to see all the different climates.

I saw the campus hares out scampering around today here in Korea. They’re so huge — I’m used to see rabbits back home.

Lucky you!! We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground, so it will be at least another month before we see sights such as this. But thanks for the reminder. I need to get some sort of a little fence to go around the tree in our front yard so I can keep the rabbits and squirrels away from my tulips when they start pushing up through the soil. The daffs are safe, but something loves to nibble on those tulip leaves!

Ooh How Exciting! I love that time of year. Of course, here in Aus we’re still in the midst of our hottest months. I’ve been out this evening surveying the wilting lettuces.. Enjoy the surprises that rise out of the ground!

We won’t see that here for a long while yet; in no small part because everything will be covered with snow for a few more weeks yet! But I can’t wait!
