Reading on the Porch

ReadingonthePorch

It’s been so hot here recently that I’ve spent very little time in my favorite summer reading spot: my chair on the front porch. This morning, though, the air was cool and just perfect for some time spent reading instead of doing all my other morning activities. It was heavenly!

Currently enjoying The Keeper of the Bees, by Gene Stratton-Porter.

I love your porch! That built-in bookcase is lovely! We’ve been enjoying our porch a lot this summer, but wound up putting a portable stand fan on one side to try to keep the mosquitoes away. Too much rain here this year!

Thanks, Lisa. It IS a lovely spot for reading (in the cool of the morning) or for watching bats in the late evening!

Thanks, Les. I love your porch, too, as I’ve seen in your photos! The fan is a great idea for keeping the mosquitoes away. You have the best porch ideas! I still use the aluminum foil to keep the cats from taking over my chairs! We’ll try the fan idea tonight!

Thanks, JoAnn! I post regularly on Instagram, but so sporadically on my blog. I thought I’d combine the two for awhile and see if it helps me to be more consistent with my blogging.
