The Grandboy will be staying with us tomorrow, so I bought him a book while I was at Powell’s the other day trying to escape the heat of this scorching week. I found a display of “mystery books” for young readers. Someone very creative at Powell’s had created the covers, and I just couldn’t resist picking this one up for him. We’ll find out what book it is when he removes the wrapping. I hope he likes it!
UPDATE: The mystery book revealed!
I love those ‘mystery’ books. I bought one a while back when we were in New Mexico. The little independent there does there from time to time. It’s a lot of fun. I also know that a bunch of libraries do it around Valentine’s (for whatever reason). Good luck and I’ll watch for the ‘big reveal’! Enjoy your time with your grandboy!

Thanks, Kay. The Grandboy and I always have a lot of fun. He didn’t know what to think of the mystery book, but I think he and his dad will get a kick out of it.

What a fun thing! I’ve never heard of mystery books, but then again I never shop in ‘real’ bookstores anymore.

Nan, they are always intriguing to me when I see the displays of “mystery” books. Like Kay said, I usually see them around Valentine’s Day (don’t know why that particular holiday…). I like to try to guess what book is inside!

Les, Powell’s really is a special place, but the Grandboy and I also loved our trip to B&N last week!
