2019 was such a great reading year for me. I read and listened to so many good books! But my favorite book of 2019 was the audiobook version of Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte, narrated by Thandie Newton. I’ve loved the book since I first read it many many years ago, but this audiobook version was outstanding and it made me love the book even more.
So add this version of Jane Eyre to the nine books below for my TOP TEN for 2019!
Absolutely thrilled to see The Magic Apple Tree on your list, it’s one of my all time favourite books. And you’re making me think that it’s time reread Cider with Rosie. I read Laurie Lee’s book about walking in Spain a year or two ago and thought it was excellent.
Happy New Year to you too, Robin.

I absolutely loved The Magic Apple Tree, Cath! I bought a couple of her other books (not the mysteries…yet) and look forward to reading them in the new year. Also, I put the Laurie Lee you recommended for “Spain” on my Wanderlust challenge list, so I’ll be reading more of his beautifully written books, too! So many books to look forward to! Happy New Year, my friend!

Happy New Year to you, Robin! Nice list. I’ve only read Jane Eyre and 84 Charing Cross Road. Don’t think I’ve ever actually read Pollyanna the book. Looking forward to hearing what you read in 2020!

Kay, I loved Pollyanna! It was different and much better than I thought it would be. I’m so glad I finally got to it.

Yay, Book Love was a favorite of mine too. Actually, if I remember correctly I may have read your review of it and that’s what prompted me to read it in the first place. So many interesting books on your favorites list that I’ll have to look into!
