I’m sick this week and spending a lot of time napping (no energy) and reading when I’m up to it. No fun being sick—I haven’t had a cough and cold for a long time so I’d almost forgotten the misery of it.
So for comfort, I’ve started listening to a sweet book, another by Paul Gallico, called The Silent Miaow: A Manuel for Kittens, Strays, and Homeless Cats. It is doing the job, a comfort read with humor always helps.
I hope you feel better. Many, here at work, are sick too.

Thank you, Ti. Lots of people around here are sick, as well.

I had a terrible time for over five weeks in November into December. Two different illnesses – one was just fatigue that wouldn’t stop. And then an awful cold and cough for ages. I know it is from the stress of Tom’s mother’s situation. Hope yours doesn’t go on and on.

Nan, I’m so sorry you got hit with a double whammy! That’s awful! This one is bad enough, but you probably just didn’t have enough time for your immune system to build back up before you met the next germ! I’m hoping to avoid that, of possible.

So sorry you have this bug! Don’t let it turn into pneumonia like I did!!

Thanks for the very good advice, Andrea! I’ll work really hard not to let it turn into pneumonia!

I’m sorry you are feeling poorly. Thank goodness for audio books, right? When I’m ill, I never feel like reading a book, but audios are a great alternative. Gosh, I almost hate to say it, but it’s been several years since I had a cold… I hope you feel better soon, Robin!

Thanks for your well wishes, Les. I haven’t had a cold in years so this one felt like it hit really hard. I’m finally starting to feel like I’ll get through this before too long. An audio book has been helping me out. My eyes have been miserable with this cold, as well, so all I could do is listen. It’s a wonderful antidote to focusing on how rotten one is feeling!😜

Thank you, Marlo. I am starting to feel better and my energy level is slowly increasing. My audio book was very helpful and made me feel a lot better by taking my mind off it all!

Oh so sorry, Robin. I hate being sick and this year seems like a whole petri-dish wherever one goes. I had a friend give me a big hug yesterday at yoga and then she told me that she was sick, but decided to come to yoga anyway. I’m hoping that I get a little grace and don’t pick up whatever she was carrying around. Ha!
Take good care of yourself. I always find that the cough lingers and, though I want to be at 100% level, it’s best to take it slowly. Enjoy whatever type of reading you feel up to.

Kay, I love your petri-dish description! So many people around me were sick, so it was almost bound to happen. I can say now that I’m finally at the recovering stage and just hope it doesn’t linger for a long time. Thanks so much for your well-wishes!

Thank you, Iliana! I’m happy to report that I am finally starting to feel better. I didn’t read much because this cold really bothered my eyes this time, but thankfully I was able to listen to an audio book and that saved the day!

Thank you, Diane. I’m on the mend although not back to 100% yet. The cat book has been so much fun. You should try it! It’s kept me chuckling.
