This garden is really too demanding for me at this stage in my life, but I know I shall never be able to restrict myself there. It has to be accepted that gardening is a madness, a folly that does not go away with age. Quite the contrary.

I seem to have taken on more, rather than less! Tom is out weeding the flowers right now. He sits on a crate and finds it quite meditative.

Nan, I agree with Tom…it’s very calming and cheering to be outside working in the garden! Endless tasks, but that’s okay.
