Wise Words About The People Who Are Gone

Thinking of my Mom and Dad this week… My Dad passed away 26 years ago today, just two days before his 74th birthday. I lost my Mom almost two years ago. Missing them is timeless and a constant. But they are in my heart and always with me. The memory of them both, and their lives of integrity and kindness, still guide me in my daily life.

This was lovely, Robin, and I know you miss both your parents. Amazing that your Dad would be 100. I do love the sentiment as well. It’s been 10 years this month since my Mom passed. I miss her every day. I’ve wondered what she and my Dad would have thought of this current event we are dealing with.

Thanks, Kay. I’ve wondered the same thing about what my Dad would have thought of these awful times. I know my mother had a really hard time with the current state of affairs. I’m grateful, however, that they aren’t here during this pandemic. Thinking that it might have taken them, or that they might have been alone at the end, is unbearable. It just breaks my heart that families are going through exactly that.

Thanks, Les. I can’t believe it, either! And also that my dad would be turning 100! He’s forever “young” in my mind. Hugs to you during your tenderhearted May, also.

Such a lovely sentiment. Thank you for sharing a photo of your parents. I lost my dad almost 19 years ago this month but think of him every day. Sending you a big hug.
