everything here seems to need us
~Rainer Maria Rilke
This poem by Ellen Bass speaks to my heart today, so I wanted to share it with you. With the news filled with sadness and madness, we must try harder each day to feel that “invisible tug between you and everything.” The beautiful words of Ellen Bass remind us that each one of us is a precious meaningful being, and that each one of us can and must make a positive difference in a world gone mad.
Beautiful words in this time of so much pain. I do not understand how this inhumanity keeps happening over and over and, yet again, over. Blessings to you.

This is lovely. I recently learned about Ellen Bass’s poetry on one of Kelly Corrigan’s (author of Tell Me More) videos. I need to read more by Bass! By the way, is that Yaquina Head? Looks familiar!

Thanks, Les. I’ll have to look up that video! I’d love to see it. Yes…that Is Yaquina Head. I was searching for a photo in the public domain, and fell in love with this one.

Have you and Byron ever been to Yaquina Head? It’s on the north side of Newport, just down the road from us. 🙂
