Current Reads

painting by Edward B. Gordon

I always seem to be reading a number of books and audiobooks at the same time. Fifty years ago, I would be bent on finishing one book before starting another, but today, in the age of numerous devices, I have a book that I am listening to on my phone, another book on my Kindle, a real actual book-book from the library/bookstore or off my shelves, and a cookbook on my iPad. It’s a bit on the ridiculous side, really, but that’s my reading life these days.

Audiobook that I’m listening to on my phone:  Devil in a Blue Dress, by Walter Mosely, which I’m reading for the RIP-XVI challenge.

My current Kindle book:  Bronze and Sunflower, by Cao Wenxuan.

Current actual Book:  Summer at Fairacre, by Miss Read.

E-book on my iPad:  The Kimchi Cookbook, by Lauryn Chun.

Shall I admit to being a fractured/scattered reader, or should I call myself “well-rounded?”

Definitely, well-rounded. I am usually reading at least two. I used to do an audio book while driving to work but I am still working from home so that one has dropped.

Ti, I miss listening to audio books while I’m driving, too. I just don’t spend much time in the car anymore! Not a bad thing, but I do miss that way of making any commute much more pleasant.

Your wide variety of reading choices always inspires me! When I was younger I read one book at a time but now I find myself with several going at the same time but for different reasons. My attention ability is very different than it used to be.

    Are you making kimchi?

I have checked out Bronze and Sunflower and will read it after or while I read the next Commissario Brunetti book.

Thanks, Marlo. I’m really enjoying Bronze and Sunflower so I hope you like it, too. I’m not making my own kimchi, but I love it and was curious to learn more about it. It’s so healthy! Commissario Brunetti…I must read that series! There are so many good series to look forward to!

Curious about the Kimchi Cookbook. I always have 2-3 books going: audio, eBook and print. I prefer just to have (2) going though but (3) works if they are very different.
