The sun is shining this morning! After so many days of rain, the yard is like a jungle! The grass, which I was finally able to mow last week during a break in the rain, (quite a challenge!) needs to be mowed again! And the butterfly garden literally looks like a jungle. So… if you need to find me today, I will be outside weeding instead of reading!

Your jungle looks beautiful, Robin! Those weeds should be easy to pull out since the soil is damp, right? Still raining over here… 4.85 inches so far this month. Almost 33 inches for the year!

Thanks, Les. I did get a lot weeded this week…filled up the green recycle bin in one afternoon! Of course there’s still lots more to pull out! *Sigh*

OK, you two (Robin and Les), please send some of your rain down here to us. We’re in great need! It’s odd isn’t it that one area get too much of one part of the spectrum and another area gets the opposite end. The jet stream just needs to wriggle around a bit. 😉

Kay, I wish we could somehow help the rest of the country fighting such horrible drought conditions! This has been a strange Spring!

Did you do the “no-mow-May”? We do this every year, and then after only mow part of the land. It’s amazing how many things pop up, and a lot of them weeds(!) that pollinators love. We have quite the wild looking place. haha

Nan, I love the idea of “no-mow-May!” Once the heat hits here, most everyone stops watering their lawns, so we don’t have to mow much until September. We just let the lawns go dormant. So most of our mowing could just be in June!
