This morning I read a fun post on Fence’s blog (SusanHatedLiterature) about the new film version of Jane Austen’s Persuasion. The “Jane Austen Season” just started on ITV in the UK. Fence included a link to their website, so I watched the trailers for Persuasion, Mansfield Park, and Northanger Abbey. I can’t wait until November when they’re released in the US! If you haven’t seen these trailers already, then read Fences’s post, crank up the sound on your computer and go to the Jane Austen Season website. Treat yourself to the trailers, interviews, and other lovely things on the website. Enjoy!
Oh goody, I’m such a Jane fan, can’t wait to visit your links, and for these new films to be released stateside.
For a giggle, I sometimes visit the “Republic of Pemberley” website, where even more dedicated fans congregate online.
I’m about halfway through my new “Annotated Pride and Prejudice”, annotated by David Shapard, which I’m enjoying immensely…

Gentle Reader, I’ll have to pick up that annotated P & P. It looks very interesting. I also checked out the Republic of Pemberley, and bookmarked it because there’s a lot to see and read there!
Fence, the IMDB shows that the 3 shows will be released in the US in November, but I don’t know if they’ll be shown on TV or be released as DVDs. And I’m not sure how they’ll compare to our favorites. Sounds like mixed reviews so far, although the actors look wonderful.
