Seeing Red

Many of you have enjoyed a brilliant Autumn, with its entire range colors. The Northwest has also been beautiful this fall, but there hasn’t been a lot of red. So when I took my students to their music time this morning, and saw the tree in the school courtyard, I just had to grab my camera. The photos don’t do it justice, but you get the idea of the beautiful, brilliant red that took our breath away.

Oh that is gorgeous Robin! I’ve always wished that we had colors down here like that 😦 I’ve always wanted a Red Maple tree…they’re so beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful. We mostly get yellows, maybe some oranges, but hardly ever reds in Utah.

We just returned from a trip in Oregon. The leaves were beautiful, but like you mention not as many reds. I agree with Chris – I want a maple tree.

That’s beautiful! We have some surprising color, this year, but it’s raining at the moment. Probably tomorrow we’ll find some trees have been stripped by the rain.

Thanks, Chris. I’m glad I took that photo while I had the opportunity. Yesterday, the rains returned and most of the leaves are coming down fast!

Thanks, Nymeth. That tree is always beautiful in the fall, but it was having sunshine at exactly the right time that made it so breathtaking. Now the dark, rainy days have returned!

Thanks, Booklogged. I always loved autumn in Utah (Utah girl here!), and especially the huge groves of yellow Aspen in the mountains. But not much red there, like you said.

Thanks, Cath. I’m afraid the leaves will be mostly down by the end of this stormy weekend!

Thanks, Bookfool. The rains and the dark have returned here, too, and the leaves are coming down fast. I’m glad for that brilliant moment of red.

Hey, thanks, Chris. That looks like a fun meme. I’ll work on it this weekend.

Thanks, Bybee. A scarlet tree would certainly be a landmark for me. It would be incredibly beautiful to live someplace where there’s lots of that red!

Robin, I love the photo of autumn, in fact I like a lot of your photo’s – so I’ve nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger Award. See my blogsite for why. Enjoy the rest of autumn, while we wait patiently for our Ozzie Summer.

Very pretty indeed! There are a group of trees outside of my work that are all kinds of beautiful yellows, reds, and oranges. I’m not sure if they’re as pretty as that tree of yours, but breathtaking nonetheless..

Thanks, Ashley. The colors here were so beautiful this fall, but I’m afraid most of them are on the ground now! Good thing I had the camera with me that day.
