I remember reading this when I was a teen!
I think I would enjoy it again all these years later.
    Happy Wordless Wednesday!

Do you know of the book N.C. Wyeth by David Michaelis? There are tales in that nonfiction book you wouldn’t accept in fiction – thinking ‘too impossible.’ I haven’t read the entire book but did read part of it in Vanity Fair years ago, and there are whole scenes I still recall. I should sit down with the whole book.
And there was a Wyeth horse in the Kentucky Derby! Sadly, didn’t do well, but still just being in it is a big deal.

Just came across your superb blog. I’m the slowest reader on the planet and I envy people like yourself who can read so much and so widely and live long enough to talk about it.

Hi Momto8! I’m enjoying rereading this after many years. You’re right…it’s a great story.

    Karen, I love N.C. Wyeth’s illustrations!

Lea, I’m enjoying even more than the first time I read it. It’s a story that takes off running and doesn’t stop for the whole book. So much fun.

Kelly, I bought this book and Kidnapped (also with NC Wyeth’s illustrations) years ago when I worked in The King’s English bookstore. They are some of my book treasures!

Nan, I hadn’t heard of that book about NC Wyeth, but I’d be very interested in it, I’m sure. I have always loved his work, but know very little about him. I’m going to see if my library has it. Thanks.

Thanks for finding my blog, Marie. I’ve become a much slower reader recently, but I think I savor the words much more now than I used to. The numbers of books does add up over time, as you can see from my Library Thing list.
